In order to access any service at CCC it is necessary to complete a referral form and then attend an initial First Contact Appointment. This can be arranged by phone or by attending any of our Supported Drop-ins on a Monday or Wednesday 1 - 3.30pm.
All services at the Chrysalis Centre for Change are free with the exception of the Residential Weekend. In addition CCC offers a Private Counselling Service. As a registered Charity CCC relies on external funding and donations. All funds raised by this services support the valuable work of CCC. This service is by pre-arranged appointment only. Positive Mental Health
All services at CCC are aimed at promoting positive mental health and empowering women into changes that improve their mental wellbeing. At CCC we believe positive mental health is about building your self esteem and self worth in order that you realise your own needs are as important as everyone elses
Professional Counselling Service
Counselling offers the opportunity to talk about your problems in a safe and supportive environment. The relationship between the client is confidential and non-judgemental. The safety of this relationship offers the opportunity for the client to explore their their feelings and work towards making positive life changes.
The counsellor you will see holds a Diploma in Counselling or is working towards this qualification. The Counsellors at CCC are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their Code of Ethics and Practice. In accordance with the BACP the Counsellors at the Centre receive regular professional supervision and continued professional development.
On your first visit you will have an informal chat with the Counsellor, during this visit the Counsellor will ensure that you understand what counselling is and what it is not and also what is meant by confidentiality. If you have any concerns your Counsellor will be only too happy to discuss them at this initial pre-counselling appointment.
The drop-in is open for any woman to come along and chat to one of our trained support workers on
Mondays & Wednesdays 1 - 3.30pm
It offers the opportunity to discuss problems, identify any further support needed and also enables you to develop friendships and become involved in therapeutic crafts. Simply come along and have a cup of tea and a chat. Coming to the CCC drop-in can help reduce isolation and build confidence.
Positive Me Programme for Depression
Thursdays 9.30 - 12 pm
A new 8-week rolling programme, facilitated by Professional Counsellors, using CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to help women suffering from the symptoms of depression to develop long-term positive coping strategies. Women can join the programme at any time.
What is CBT?
CBT or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a form of therapy that looks at the links between what we do, how we think and how we feel. CBT focuses not on the past or how our problems have arisen but on looking for ways to improve your mental wellbeing NOW.
Sharing your feelings with others who are going through a similar experience can be highly beneficial. Working together in a group we will look at the causes and symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety and together work towards developing long-term coping skills that will help you to

Just A Better Way:

This 8 week course offers you the opportunity to understand stress and anxiety and to manage them with positive strategies. It enables you to identify your own stress levels and then manage them with positive strategies. It also gives you the opportunity to learn and practice relaxation techniques.

Domestic Abuse Support Group
Thursdays 1 - 3.30 pm
This support group is for any woman affected by domestic abuse, directly or indirectly. No appointment is necessary.
CCC also offers one-to-one appointments with the Domestic Abuse Support Worker for emotional support. Please contact the centre for further information
Personal Development Courses
CCC offer a 10 week personal development course for confidence and assertion. The course covers confidence building, assertiveness, saying no without feeling guilty, managing change, anger, self esteem and positive communication skills. All courses are run by a qualified Tutor.
Therapeutic Residential Weekends
During the weekend you will work on your own personal development as well as experiencing the peace, tranquility and beauty of this special place. The weekends are run by professional counsellors and offer a relaxing and unique experience.
Creative Crafts for Therapy
We run a program of crafts throughout the year including card making, colouring for therapy, relaxation sessions and more. These friendly craft sessions offer you the opportunity to develop new skills and to meet new people.
We offer all the support, encouragement and activites available at the supported drop-ins with our outreach provision. Already established in the Iris Ward at Peasley Cross and Grasmere Ward at Whiston Hospital. If this service interested you please contact the centre.
